On their first day, each employee receives a Rush Enterprises Coin with our company motto, “The customer is the boss.” This reminds us to provide superior customer service during every interaction with our customers and support them whenever and wherever they need us. This coin also includes our Core Values of Excellence, Fairness, Productivity and Positive Attitude which guide our behaviors and decisions every day. To build upon that foundation and further our success, every member of the Rush Enterprises family is committed to the pursuit of excellence while operating with the utmost Integrity.
Our people are the key to our success. And we want them to know it. On milestone anniversaries, employees receive special Rush Enterprises pins, and managers are also encouraged to create a small yearbook with photos and well-wishes from co-workers. These special moments are featured on our employee intranet, along with a welcome for new employees and recognition for all our award recipients throughout the year.
We take pride in recognizing employees for their hard work and dedication. Each year at our Employee Recognition Awards Dinner, we present awards to employees, leaders and dealerships for their extraordinary work. Excellence Awards are presented to employees who demonstrate a commitment to our Core Values. Managers throughout our company are eligible to receive Chairman’s Awards for meeting strategic objectives and being strong leaders. Our Raving Fan Award goes to employees who have received positive, enthusiastic feedback from customers. We are also proud to present our Volunteer of the Year Award to an employee who gives back to our community. Award recipients and their guests are invited to attend this special event and enjoy a fun weekend in San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to our annual Awards and Recognition Dinner, we host an awards night as part of our Tech Skills Rodeo when we pay tribute to our most talented Service Technicians, Parts professionals and Aftermarket and Truck Sales Representatives and award them with cash and valuable prizes.
The Rush Enterprise Foundation was created to provide financial support to our employees experiencing an unforeseen financial hardship. It was established for our employees by our employees as another way for us to take care of each other in times of need. In its first two years, the Rush Enterprises Foundation assisted 50 families experiencing unexpected financial crises, from significant medical expenses and accidents to natural disasters and deaths of family members. Employees are encouraged to make tax-deductible contributions to the Foundation, to ensure we are able to support all employees who need help.
Rush Enterprises proudly offers a number of programs and resources dedicated to strengthen teams, enrich our working environment and encourage employees to be fully engaged in their careers. With direct employee feedback through our annual engagement survey, we gain a better understanding of our employees and their experiences working here. That information helps us design programs that are most meaningful to employees and help us create a rich and rewarding workplace for all.
